If you find something in the UAE that helps with some aspect of this hobby then post it in here. I'd like to propose an event for Dubdrift (Drifting and touring).
This is a request from my father who works at DPWorld.

So here's the idea.
Since the Philippine Independence Day is just around the corner, my father has asked me if I can get you guys together for an event to be held in Jebel Ali.
The event is to be held this Saturday, June 12, 2010. (my father just informed me, so sorry if this is a bit abrupt)
Personally, I would recommend only EP kits be used so that we don't disrupt the event as a whole.

Hi,
I have just yesterday finished a Kamtech VW Bettle shell for one of my minis, but my son has fallen completley in love with it and is refusing to let me run it. As he is only 2 he literally grabs hold of it and wont let go if I mention taking it outside.

Right now he is lying on the floor next to it and patting it like a pet.

Anyway Plan B is to make a quick interior for it and stick one of his figures inside as it doesnt look as if I will be allowed to run it.

So does anyone know where I can get some styrene sheet ?

Right, so the excitement of Automodex is over and its time to start planning the next trip to Al Ain.

I know we had a lot of breakages at Automodex and the guys are needing to order spares online etc.....so i would suggest we aim for the 9th April, that should give everyone enough time to get their cars ready.

Let me know if you guys are happy with the date, if not please suggest alternatives!

Eric mentioned to me yesterday that the owner of the hobby centre in Al Ain is possibly gonna set up a competition with prizes that day! so should be a really good day if the comp goes ahead. If it doesnt happen we can go anyway!

there will be an event called Oman Street Games which will include Autoshow and RC Drifting Sessions as well

We were talking on Saturday about having an away meet at the track in Al Ain. I know we all enjoy the Movenpick area, but it would be an opportunity to get a bit of track time on a purpose built track, not only that, it might be a nice trip for families that want to get out of Dubai since the weather is so good.

Our good friend Bandit knows the people who run/manage the track so I will ask him for the details and set something up. But it would be good to plan ahead so that we can get organised...
