PostNext Al Ain trip 9 April 2010?

Right, so the excitement of Automodex is over and its time to start planning the next trip to Al Ain.

I know we had a lot of breakages at Automodex and the guys are needing to order spares online etc.....so i would suggest we aim for the 9th April, that should give everyone enough time to get their cars ready.

Let me know if you guys are happy with the date, if not please suggest alternatives! hurray

Mister-e

Touring car is 25T and not 23T, you are welcome to run it in Mayhem though smile

For the touring car, I am going PROPER old school....

Using

25T GT-Tuned motor
FDR on or about 6:00
2001 DTM Vodaphone Mercedes as driven by Bernd Schneider.

Hmm, I thought I saw that somewhere at the internet it is mentioned that 13,5T brushless is equal to 23T brushed. LRP site I think.

Anyway, I'll take both motors, the ST and other lower turns brushed motors to use it on my touring.
I'll be using the LiPo though very happy .
I have only one. Will test it's consumption for both classes with the Lipo.

Man, I'm still pretty scared charging them.
Don't even have a balancer, thus I have to charge the saddle pack 1 by 1. rolling eyes

Mister-e, there is a lot of speculation regarding how BL relates to Brushed with regards to output and power, but there is no hard and fast rule.

Looking at the specs of a GT tuned and a HW 13T, they are very similar, with the HW having slightly more revs on 7.4V and the GT has a bit more torque so it could technically be geared to have more pull without overheating.

For now, the focus is finding something even in BL and Brushed to make FAIR competition and this is only going to be one class, apart from mini where we impose rules, and ensure that rules are obeyed.....

All other classes,... everyone is welcome to do as they please....

If ever we are going to establish a club, we will need to attract people (mini class is good for that) and then have a focus class (touring cars) which has the best prizes, best attendance and is AFFORDABLE for people to join...and memberships is what will maintain the club, right?

All other classes are going to be for serious racers, and people who want to win with their wallets...

Bandit, is the 13.5T the one that has no cooling fins?? If so, it is probably going to be better in Mayhem, from my understanding, that is a 3600Kv motor, with a large rotor so will be more powerful and quicker than the 13T's.....over to Mayhem you go...lol....

OK, since Mister-E sounds like he is running in the 13T touring class and Bandit?!? is not sure, then I'll probably come join you guys too. I like to run Mayhem but only if I have someone to play with friends otherwise not much point.

If I make an appearance in the F1 class, i'll have to rob one of my other car for the reciever but I do want to try it out. Still have a bit of work to do tonight though.

@Dan, you still need that spur, I fitted one to mine and the diff is smoooooth? I think if you use Andy's 0.4 pitch pinion it's slightly different pitch and you might end up butchering your spur? Might be wrong though..........

Greg bring it along. ill give Andys Pinion a shot if it doesnt look any good ill fit the spur. Got my diff sorted at last, now im moving on to painting the body

if the F109's spur is a 64P, Tamiya's 0.4 module will definitely damage it in the long run..

make sure the gears' pitches match.. or one will definitely get eaten down..

Gerg,

I thought, let's run with the herd, the more the merrier.

However, the following challenge:
My friend's first on road car has 9,5T brushless on board.
I guess he has to run in the open class.
Then there will be 4 of us in that group.

OK, I'll run the open class, trying several old motors I haven't used for a while.
