Hi,
I dont know much about Spectrum but might give in sooner or later and get one. This looks like a good option -

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-radio-spektrum-3chpistw-1270x1590-sr3000x2-spm20300-p-14908.html

If I am reading it right it includes two receivers, and two servos for 209 USD.

Is there anything missing from this radio, is it compatible with current spectrum receivers, anything else to know ?

Thanks
Duane.

hi duane .... the spektrum in your link utilizes the 1st generation DSM technology .... meaning the RX/TX will not be compatible with the newer versions of spektrum which uses the DSM2 technology (DX3R) ......

the deal looks good though ....... id be willing to share and take 1 of the SR3000 receivers off your hands if you do decide to take this combo ......

Daune

I agree with Strawb here, that radio is based on old dsm tech and it would be more worth your while to get a newer DX3S, it's a little more expensive but worth it. I think they retail for around USD 250 and come with 2 recievers.

Saying that ultimate heli has them in stock and sell them for just over 1000 AED, so it will work out close to the same as shipping one in!

Ultimate Heli sold me a DX3s for 1000 AED, think they are priced at 1100 AED. Well worth it too. Had a small issue with it too to begin with and they sorted it out for me then and there.

I have had both, and the DX3s is a great radio, the only problem I have with it is that it is a little 'flimsy' in construction. Mine has taken a hammering, and I have had it in pieces many times. I like all the features, 10 model-mem, expo, telemetry and all the other stuff. It also runs off 4 x AA batts which is convenient.

The 3.0 is not as feature-full, but it is definately tougher. It does not have expo or telemetry but is a very capable radio.

I would also suggest the newer model, they seem to be a good price locally and support is previously UNHEARD of....

..I cannot comment on the Spektrum servo's but I hear they are 'not all that', I have tried the TowerPro ones and for US$10, they are ok....so much of a muchness in cost I think...
