PostStreet Jam OTA-R31... Woah!!!

The first ever... COMPLETELY different drift chassis. It doesn't, in anyway look like it's based on any other kit.

... Here we go.

The base of the chassis looks to have taken a new direction and according to reports is not like any other touring car to date.
Compact and low design with the motor and gears moved further forward than on previous Street Jam chassis.
The steering rack has been completely designed to accomodate this. Also reports are the steering angle will be about 50° out of the box .
In regards to the shocks they look to be moving towards the centre more, so balance will be important in the design.

A few other smaller points are the 2 position options for the body posts, so they may line up with Yokomo bodies so no more sieve style bodies.
Also for added strength the front bumber mount is part if the bulkhead, not sure about this design wise though.

And this is the rest of what I know...

Combining balance and strength the chassis will be flexible yet strong. The key to this chassis also looks to be user friendly with the front and rear sus arms, axles etc using the same parts.
So easier to repair on the fly. Also 3 screw types only will be used to make life easier.

The battery has been centred and moved forward for ultimate balance. This will sit behind the motor which again is "mid ship". A great feature is the inbuilt motor fan mount that is part of the kit .... brilliant.
Whilst considering this for the motor the ESC and other electronics heat has also been considered. The chassis airflow is integrated to the tub chassis to get air over the parts and keep you sideways longer.

COG is loooooooooow, this will add to stability along with the "under bumper wing" on the front of the chassis. And did I mention it's bathtub? Yayyy, we (atleast me) poor people might actually be able to afford this!
More info as it comes to hand!

THE MOST CRAZY STEERING ANGLE EVERRRR! 50 DEGREES OUT OF THE BOX!

Release date? August.
How much will it cost? No official aproximates, but since it's Japanese, be prepared to look at a price tag that I suspect will read... Around $400-550

Car Terminology Explained for the less literate:
* Understeer - Hitting the fence with the front of the car
* Oversteer - Hitting the fence with the back of the car
* BHP - How quickly you hit the fence
* Torque - How far the fence travels after hitting it.

Anyone actually interested in this chassis?

I'll post updates anyway...

Wheels are the new RC Art R32 series due out soon!

It looks similiar to the Losi jrxs..

Someone posted this on PRCD a while back, but didn't have any final product images.

This kit gets my vote.
It's a mid-range kit, a candidate for an OD setup, and should fit anyone's budget.

=)
