Next Al Ain trip 9 April 2010?

Right, so the excitement of Automodex is over and its time to start planning the next trip to Al Ain.

I know we had a lot of breakages at Automodex and the guys are needing to order spares online etc.....so i would suggest we aim for the 9th April, that should give everyone enough time to get their cars ready.

Let me know if you guys are happy with the date, if not please suggest alternatives! hurray

We're on for Friday 9 April 2010 - 8 AM in AL AIN

Its an early start so we need to leave Area 2 by 6:30am latest

i'll just do morning shift instead of afternoon..

Hi Bandit,

I'm not competing abroad.
Just the fact that in my former residences, I was already addicted to this hobby and had the opportunity to attend races.
My X-Ray kit is an antique one from 2004, the T1 FK04 with saddle pack battery configuration. I still love it friends

The sport tuned motor, that's the one I will bolt on in my rwd mini.
The straights will be challenging though on full throttle driving

It's just not like driving my X-ray banghead

So people, have we decided on the classes we are going to run for the 9th?

Mini - Sport Tuned
F1 - Silver can
Touring Car - 25T Brushed or 13.5T BL
GT Mayhem - 19T Brushed or 9T BL

I think that is a good mix...whaddya think?

I will be back in Dubai on the 4th, so start thinking about it, I can always create a race schedule.....

On the issue of running the races...

I have my own timing gear, but I only have 6 of the bridge sensors and I only have 7 or 8 transponders.....

I would like to do a 5 car limit per race, as the software works better in the trial mode...but with only a few transpoders, we will need to keep swapping which is a pain...

I am going to sell some of the transponders so if anyone is keen on buying, please let me know.
The ones I have are used, but in good condition, I will sell these for AED120. Brand new ones will cost US$40 shipped.....as you know, I dont make money on them, this is my cost from rclapcounter and any excess I have will go to getting more of the bridge sensors....

(donations for bridge sensors welcomed...)

Ummm........just couple of points.
you say 13.5T BL, so does that mean the Yeah racing 13T combo I just brought with my F109 is OK?
GT Mayhem......... if we already have one regulated class for touring, why do we need another one? Just let people run what they want. If they smash their kit to bits with a 9000kv Mamba then great, I'd love to see it laughing

Otherwise I looking forward to making it this trip. The missus will be out of town.

gerg, yep the 13T HW is spot on for touring. One class is good for me, but some folks want to run the nutter class.
Would be better if we all ran the same though.

Andy, not sure you understood.
I'm agreeing two classes for touring cars is good, the motor limits for the regulated touring class are fine, but I'm one of those 'nutters' who want's to run in the Mayham class and I would like to see the GT Mayhem class as just an open class.
I had a lot of fun at the automodex in GT mayhem and want to have another go in Al Ain, but I don't see why we would need to introduce motor limit at this time.
I say leave it open and let the class develop naturally, we can introduce limit later if people want to. Anyone else who want's to run this class should also have a say..........anyone?

Let's just limit them on the batts: 2S Li-po (hardcase a must) or 6-cell Ni-Mh/Ni-Cd..

GT Stock's are 0K..

So, How about that bulk purchase of GT Tuned motors? smile

I agree here! as for the GT Tuned or Sports Tuned Motors, I think we can still use it in Area 2 or simply use it in the mini class. If you dont have mini, order from JJ so it will not be put to waste. hihihihi thumbs_up
