| thats correct mini... i own a TB-03D and TA-05 V2 and most parts are compatible with each other for shaft gear and diff gear they are different. TB03 uses shaft drive while TA05 and TRF's uses belt so they are not compatible. this is just me ohh and wait for Dr. KNOW-IT-ALL for his detailed reply to your questions just wait... |

| I think c hub and front upright are the same, my ta05 ifs and tb evo 5 uses the same c hub, I have used a tb03 diff gears and prop shaft gear on my evo 5 as well, Better to download the manuals for this kit from tamiya america so you can check what other parts they share, I was told the evo5 ang 416 share the same suspension parts _________________ |

Be careful sir. It's the parts for TA05 V.2 you're looking for.
But just so that there's no confusion. I feel that you'll be better off with TRF 416 parts and TB03 gears.
http://www.tamiya.com/english/rc/manuals.htm You can download manuals from the link above. From there, you'll just need to compare part numbers from your EVO5 manual. Make sure they're exactly the same part numbers.

| Some clarification here.....
There are SOME compatible parts between EVO 5 and TB03, but not all, they are quite different really.....
The TRF cars, Evo5 and 416 share many parts OUTSIDE of the drivetrain in the same way TB03 and TA05 cars share similar parts, again, OUTSIDE of the drivetrain.....
Don't expect too many compatible parts between Evo 5 and TB03..... |

| I don't want to revive an old thread, but someone I know wants to know if the TB Evo 4 shares dogbones (the smaller driveshafts) with another Tamiya kit.
So yeah, does anyone know if TB03/TA05 dogbones are interchangeable with the ones of the TB Evo 4? |

| Well, since it's a TRF, I believe you are talking about the shafts for the universals. The shafts can be bought separately. I've seen 42, 44 , 46 and 48mm shafts for the universals.

| TRF Cars come with universal shafts and the TB and TA cars come with dogbones, so the answer is no, as a direct swap! To fit TA and TB dogbones onto a TRF car, you would need to take the axle over too, whilst considering the length.
Taking the TRF uni's over to the TB or TA car would work, but you would need to leave out the axles and again, consider the lengths of the shafts.
The universal shaft is a good upgrade on any car, they reduce steering 'chatter' in the drivetrain when the steering is at full lock. They also wear a little less. Tamiya have the assemblies for the axles as a seperate part number/spare, so when they wear, you just need to replace some parts and not the entire shaft.

| Thanks guys. Mike V (the guy with the craayyyyzeh body making skills? Working engines and detailed interiors) got himself a TB Evo 4, and he wanted to know if he could replace the dogbones.
... I gave the two of you full credit though, and also told him about this forum. |
