PostNew Tamiya Releases - Upcoming Shizuouka Show

Scheduled to be released in July 2010. It will share parts with the TA05, and will be a high end drift chassis.

Price is a little too steep though, convert it from Yen to USD and see the $500-550 badge yourself.

Here is some more information...

Noooo, Josh, think about TA05Rs, and the TA05MS, and the IFS versions... Feel better yet?

I honestly think that this version of the TA05 is a disgrace to the series. It would have been better off if it were completely plastic and had a few aluminium bits just like the TA05, or if it were TRF level. This is just... Odd. Anyway, we'll find out once someone reviews it on a forum.

Josh, you, mentor? Haha, cool.

Yes. It should've either been in the mid-range, or high-end.
Not "high-end with some mid-range parts that we don't think is important"

I certainly won't let go of my TA05, but I'm really eyeing for an HPI or HB kit.
Just don't have the funds yet. Hehe.

Another update...

*Update*

"A front ball diff, rear solid axle, universal swing shafts, and TRF dampers are standard equipment. The steering will have parallel geometry that a countersteer setup will benefit from. "

Wow....they stated what should obviously be in the package.
Parallel steering?? Cool, 3 design generations down the line, and they are stating the obvious.
Yes!!

Yet another update... This time it's a video.

CAUTION: THE FOLLOWING VIDEO IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART/ JOSH. blum3
Just kidding..

Has anyone watched the whole thing? Can you summarize it for me? I got tired after the second minute, does anything exciting happen or is the whole video about two drifters spinning out repeatedly over a course of a few minutes?

... I am serious.

@Abdul
Yes...they were just spinning like two reckless drivers. =D
I did like the 2nd part when the trucks came out.....but that's about it. =P

I still can't believe that Tamiya is still considering the use of NiMHs and NiCads.
Aren't those batteries hazardous to the environment?
Ow well....

I am not sold on the Rally Mini either......

Josh, LiPo is also not a very 'green' product either. The only reason they are still using NiMh and NiCd is simply because they are more 'stable' and there are std's of certification, the same with LiFe. When I say stable, in a standing state, they are difficult to get to combust and when treated badly physically, they are more robust....

I like the FF03 :-)

Well, isn't the idea of these shows suppose to be "releasing the new and innovative"?

How many of us here still use Nimhs and Nicads?
And by 'use', I mean constantly use it. Not just have it laying around at home.

The M05RA will FAIL in the dirt because of that ground clearance... My TT01ERA has an inch of clearance, and it still doesn't do well in flat dirt...

Tamiya needs to hire new kit designing people.... Maybe kidnap the ones at HPI/HB... very happy

Suspension settings might help the TT01ERA's performance?

first of all they will not realease such kits if it is not approved and tested for its purpose. tamiya and/or other professional race venues have special tracks for the said kit. so it must work well. dont argue!

if you buy a kit that is not intended to be one, then you're FU@%*$!!! PERIOD! dont argue!

ohh and by the way... i love the FF-03 and that VDF smile i will use it as per its purpose smile hahahaha... bash bash bash
