Post2010 Mini SSS - Super Summer Series

A

ITS ALL OVER!!! We have endured the summer heat, and the best team has prevailed!!

A BIG CHEER TO TEAM JJ DUBSHOP!!!!

I have put all the driver points and team points down for you to reflect on. Bear in mind that some of the non-regular points are a bit skewed, there were some stand-in drivers during the season.

Congratulations to the top three drivers
1st - Eathan
2nd - Ian
3rd - Andy

And a really good effort to everyone.

I will make a few personal commendations to Lance for most improved driver (even without his 'special' motor laughing ) and to Jon & Bong for consistancy throughout the event. Both managed to get in the points a few times, and were unlucky not to qualify for some of the finals but both of them contributed points that boosted their teams chances of competing. Unfortunatelyfor some teams, work intefered with participation, and Dan, Duane and most notably Jay were not able to attend, but when they were there, were in the running. Also, Eric would have been a thorn in our sides had he not been transferred to Thailand, but I am pretty sure he is getting his RC fix there....

Now what are we going to do each week????

WEEK 19 (4 Byes) - POINTS STANDING
ISAAC HUNT RACING - 230
Andy - 98
Graham - 88
Jamie - 44

TEAM JJ DUBSHOP -246
Jon - 34
Eathan - 108
Ian - 104

TEAM MAWA - 48
Bong - 34
Chris - 10
Lindsey - 4

TEAM DAG - 122
Dan - 20
Ahmed - 14
Greg - 88

TEAM UNKNOWN - 68
Jayson (keiichi) - 2
Lance - 60
Ryan (JRacing) - 6

TEAM JED-I - 90
Jay - 40
Paul - 36
Duane - 22

2010 Mini SSS - Super Summer Series :: Comments

Abdul, for the time being I am going to do mini's, simply because it is easier to run, and if time allows it, a tourer session each week can be squeezed in.

There will be a limit on gearing and motor simply because Area 2 is way to small for anything more than a tourer with a Sport Tuned motor....

Abdul,
think the idea with Andy's Mini SSS here is........

- It's hot outside, so keep it simple
- It's hot outside, so keep it quick
- It's need's to be fun, so mini is king thumbs_up
- It need's to be affordable for all, so mini is king thumbs_up
- We don't have much space or a proper track, so mini is king clapping

I know you have a drifter, but if you want to race, you need another car. Otherwise you will end up with a kit that is neither set up right for drifting nor or racing. With a tourer, you need to set it up for one or the other.

If you want to race with us, buy a mini, they are cheap, fun, and indestructible.......

If this Mini SSS is a success, then maybe next year we will try with tourers too. But for now we have not tried anything like this before, it is a test to see if we have enough interest to sustain a club with regular racing, specially during summer.

Greg has pretty much summed it up fairly.....rest assured, I dont want to exclude anyone, and I dont want to seperate dubdrift, but logisticallly, it works in favour of a mini.

What i might do, is get a donor car and keep it as a 'loaner' that 'invitational' drivers can use each week to supplement teams who have no drivers.....I will look into how we can make his work...

Hmm... I guess you're right.

Actually, I can race. I've got a TA05 IFS for drifting, a TT01E with a fair few upgrades that doesn't do anything, and a secret one. Maybe I should get a mini next... very happy

Cheers.

Hi,
I will join in, I will be on my own in the summer so will have no trouble making it to at least 6 or 7 races.

If theres a team that wants me let me know,

Duane.

Think we will have to do a group buy for another set of transponders. If anyone else is up for this let me know

Greg, the concept of only 12 registrations per week is to keep each session short on a Sat afternoon, that coupled with the fact that the software works best with the eval version onf 5 cars per race. Realistically we will only get around 8 persons every week so we could run 2 heats, 3 rounds and be done in 40 mins...

Dan, I was going to use some of the 'entry fees' to do that, but if any one wants a transponder, I welcome a group buy. According to rcslapcounter, they are US$35 a piece...I charge the same plus shipping.
