Zabeel Park Incident

Dear All,

As most of you probably know, there has been some incident at Zabeel Park where they asked us to all leave. I am not sure who would complain, but they said that there were people playing football and cricket there and this is one of the reasons. :evil: cry

I am going to go to the Public Parks Office this week and see if we can get it sorted out.

I will let you all know what happens.

In the meantime, if any of you have some suggestions about where else we can go, please give us some input.

Greg and I went to the Creek to see what was happening at the old track, and I can confirm that the entire thing has been bulldozed to the ground....there is nothing but a big sand patch there now. Very sad.

I will also check on the open lot at Al Wasl, I am not sure if it would be a nice drift area but will check it out anyway.

Yeah, let's use the school parking lot. On the map you can see what looks to be a a whole bunch of blue busses....they have not been there everytime I have been past the place....and in front of the hall there is a parking lot almost identical to where we play at Zabeel.
The school one is better though...there are a lot of tall trees on one side, and they will provide PLENTY of shade in the afternoons...they can shove their AED100 per hour. bounce

Most of the drifters had a busy day today, after the AUH meet, I'm not sure if all of them will be able to make it tomorrow.
But I'll be there for sure. Hehe. =)

Very sorry for the change of plans. Since you may not be available today, I'll just a look at sir Martin's suggestion.
Then next week we'll give the Safa area a try. =)

one thing i would like to warn everyone about:

This is in jumeirah on al wasl road, i notice sometimes that belhasa driving center uses that area as a training space, ontop of that, there are some people that play cricket in that space on certain days, so to avoid any conflict, allow me to surveil that area for a week especially on saturdays and i will post up and all clear if were ok to run out there, i would also gladly join u guys as its much closer to me (2 min drive or 10 min walk) hahahahah

As far as the area goes and to my knowledge from living in that area:

It is a free area so no worries about parking meters
Its around 300 - 400 meters from spinneys markey
It is accessible from al wasl road and from behind
It is a wide open area so there is some breeze from the seaside
Bathrooms may be an issue since the nearest gas station is a kilometer away
It will be seen by other people as it is alongside al wasl road which is busy 24/7, there will be exposure

As a bonus, i beleive there is a large sand patch with some mini jumps for those of you with electric rally and electric off-road kits very happy

i use to play at that site before wen i was working near spinneys i use to bring my nitro but the problem is all school bus is using that space for parking.but its nice place cuz it is huge space to drift and mini or anything you can run. and also no light for nite drift cry

guys have you seen this parking lot from safa park facing shikzayed road the last parking?
its not that big but its a long parking. jay maybe you can take some pic of that place on your map...

are you reffering to this one jason? im not sure how busy this parking area is.. but i know a lot of people do jog in this park.

correct jay thats the one im always riding metro thats why i always pass this area i never seen any cars parking at this area. and also thers a place in satwa ill take some pic of the place ones i pass that area so you can see...
