| Hi All, Today at the Autodrome I spoke with a lady representing a company bringing a round of the 'Beetle Fun Cup' to Dubai. She was very open to us participating as a track side attraction.
In order to follow up I would like to put together an introductory pack outlining the events we have participated in in the past with some supporting pictures and figures.
Can you guys help out with -
1) A list of the events we have attended in the past and any future events we already have confirmed 2) A list of any media coverage we have received 3) Any statistics, total site members, number of event participants (including club summer series and drift events) any sponsors etc
Lastly, what do we expect/need from a event organiser assuming a day time event.
Duane.

| Hey Duane,
Good work, it seems that all of us are in some way pursuing options to get the exposure we need.
You have all the detail on the events as posted by the other guys and at some point we should make an e-scrap book on the events, or consolidate them on this site. That way we can refer everyone to the site.
In the interim, I think it would be fair to state that each of our events has attracted around 30 enthusiasts, and has been very well received and attended by the general public. We are always willing to do these events either as a 'display' or if the opportunity arises, as a competitive event. I am not sure the details of what this event is, but lets look into it.
Any event that we do, particularly with regards to a ONE day event, as minimum we would need. Drivers Stand or raised platform of some sort. Decent tarmac surface to prepare Track design Available power for charging and timing equipment Sufficient time to prepare all of the above.
Outside of that, we can pretty much provide everything else. At a worst case scenario, we dont even need anything as complex as the Automodex track, we can use road domes/plates etc. If they want a VISUALLY attractive, complete event, we can look at sponsorship money coming in from their event sponsors, and then we can go all out.
Regards |

| Mister-e, The road domes will need to be procured by the funds raised from the Dubdrift Membership fees. I would prefer it that way, as then the equipment belongs to US, and not some sponsor. I am waiting for the final quote to build our Meydan drivers stand extension, and then with the balance, will be ordering 25 of the road domes. ... |

| Understood.
Just an idea. Can't it be discussed with the sponsor that it should be purchased with the sponsor money as required investment and that we will take care of it? The sponsors can put as many stickers as they want on the road dome system.

| Hi, Heres the event -
http://www.funcup.ae/
I had a conversation with the one lady at the Autodrome and have just followed it up with an email outlining what we can do and what we need to do it. So very early stages, but we don't ask for a lot and I recon we can add a lot to an event like this.
I will let you know how it goes and thanks for the previous event info which I have included in my mail.
Duane.

| Is it possible that they would get us some new VW Beetle bodies? Even the Colt Beetle will be fine.. |

| Lance, I had thought the same thing, but obviously that is dependent on how the event is to be staged..... I see the funcup in Dubai is a 6-hour race......perhaps we should follow the exact same format, starting and finishing at the exact same time.... |

| Hmm, I think that's not such a good idea. According to my humble opinion, people likes to watch the start and finish of a race. Then the public will have to choose which start and finish to watch. Better separate those to maximize the attendance of each of the event. |

| would be cool to do a mini fun cup! all running beetle shells! i reckon you could run the same format as for the great mini endurance race (90 min) and stage it during the middle of the funcup when the audience is getting bored with the big car racing! the other option could be to run 2 sessions (60 min) one mini beetle fun cup and a GT enduro |

| As far as spectator interest is concerned, I would think a series of shorter races like Automodex format would be more entertaining for everyone. People will stay and watch a 5 min race, but completely lost trying to work out what's happening with a enduro.
It was really great to see people clap and cheer at the end of the races at Automodex. Creates a vibe. |
