Yep.. I think the same format as the Automodex would work better than an Enduro Cup..

With 4WD/2WD Touring and Drifting on the side to offer a different scene. very happy

you have a point there greg!

i suppose you could do a couple of short demo races in different classes and have some drifting - but i reckon it would still be nice to have a feature event such as the enduro which is more inline with the theme of the day! i think the organizers will be more inclined to have us part of the event if there is some thing closely related!

if the organisers go for idea, maybe they could lone us a LCD for the day, which we could connect the laptop to show the live timings for the enduro event! at least that way people could come and go and easily monitor the race progress - we would just need to slap some numbers on the cars to make it easy!

the problem you are talking about goes for any long event - but i reckon its easily overcome!

anyway lets wait and see if they keen to have us there very happy

I was joking about a 6-hour Race.....you would have to be nuts to take part in that....Although there are two annual 6-hour races I know of....that seem like fun.

The LCD idea ia a good one, but even better than that is a lit scoreboard, which is available from the guy who sells the lap timing gear. It shows the running, competitor names and times etc....very cool... but out of our league....

The Funcup is in Jan, so we have some time to organise.

andy

my thoughts behind the enduro event was 60-90 minutes not 6 hours laughing

6 hours would be hectic - can you imagine the amount of battery packs that would be flying around.....

1 pack runtime +/- 15 min at full pace

24 fully charged pack to complete the 6 hours

granted you could charge as you go but it would still take roughly a hour to charge 1 pack....so you'd still need a minimum 4 packs constantly charging...with no cool down time on the packs..... wilinili

naturally all this multiplied by the amount of competitors.....

i'm having visions of the octopus charging station on bongs car at the one al ain session lol
wacko laughing tease

I never did hear back from the people organizing the dubai round of the beetle fun cup so thought I would follow up.

turns out it was cancelled due to lack of entries
