Hi,
What have you built ? I am re-building a CC01 Pajero with cut down 1.9 Flat Irons, thats the easy one.

The less easy project is my CR01 FJ40. I have shorted the rear by about 25mm to bring the wheels in under the FJ40 wheel arches for a more scale look. Its good, but the fronts now look too far out front so I will need to shorted this end as well. I have tried many many different suspension configurations on this one, cantilever, coil over, droop and next I will go for coils and seperate dampers as I have seen on a few 1:1 FJ40 projects. I am also making very slow progress on a few scales details.

When I have something to show I will put some pictures up. In the meantime has anyone else got anything to show ?

Ok, that's much nicer than mine, but I am enjoying working on it regardless of what the result will be like.

what can you tell us about that truck, is it being built in the UAE ?

Thanks for sharing

Ive been building an RC4WD Gelande Chassis tp fit onto a Defender 90 Hard Plastic body, with a roof mounted rackset for a really scale look, also ordered the classic landies scale rims to fit onto scale yokohama replicas (the landrover knobblies), as soon as im done i'll post up some pics.

This is what it should look like, but with a different color:

About your FJ project, i think you should try to find some slightly shorter links and shafts to fit onto the axle in order to bring the front axle in more, but that also means reduced articulation and travel from the front axle, thats your decision to make, but about your suspension set up, i had a CR01 before and andy hand reccomended to me that i should have coilovers and shocks mounted directly onto the axle for better performance, that also means getting rid of the cantilevers, that should help.

A little inspiration for your project:

Good Luck

Ok, its not very scale, its made of lexan, the wheels are too big and the axles are too wide, but here is my well used, lowered and recently shortened CR01.

In the picture you can see its lower and shorter than the usual wobbly CR01, you might also see the coilover shocks and the masking tape still on the lower links marking the point I needed to shorten them to.

There is not much detail on it now apart from an ariel that I am not keen on. The masking tape on the body is where I was test fitting a snorkel I am making from a plastic coat hanger and various fillers and glues.

I also have a plate that I use to attach three working spot lights along the lower portion of the front grill.

There are a few other things I will eventually get around to,

Here it is again from the other side

it looks good to me very happy

a nice trick i learned to know if you want to be sure you have the right fit for your front axle would be to turn the front wheels to full lock on a flat table then look at it from the front at a 45 degree angle so when you look at the wheel you should not see the sidewalls, only the tire face, then keeping the rig in this position, look at how the front wheels line up with the fenders, if they look to far back or too far foreward then you know what you need to do thumbs_up

if your still stuck then bring yoour rig down with you not this coming saturday but the one after so i can take a closer look at the rig, we all soon better get a scale crawlathon going hurray
