hi guys, im carlo from dubai.
An R/C enthusiast since childhood. used to have Tamiya "Terra Scorcher II" 1:16 scale in the early 90's..
Now, i'm planning to get into R/C drifting.
still doing some research and looking for some great practical advices from the veterans here.
any advice on what would be the best chassis for drifting?.. inexpensive but good quality.
hope to drift with you guys soon.

Welcome Caloy!!!

so you're planning for an MR4TC? good choice. . . . .BD? or SD?

but you can find good second hand high-end kits here for midrange prices, and you'll never regret getting a high end kit 2thumbsup you don't need to hop it up as it's hopped up in stock form already and you can always sell it for almost the same price if you don't want it anymore, unlike beginner kits. . . . you're going to be stuck with them or sell them really cheap. . . if you're planning an upgrade. . .IMO

just scan through the FS section. .

welcome again. . . .

SD=Shaft driven, BD= Belt driven

i don't know which is better, . . .depends on your preference maybe. . . . ii haven't tried a yokomo before, you can ask jay about it, i think he has the SD version. .. .

the only place i thnk you can buy yokomos, is online. . . or you can check out with JJdriftshop, They are sellers here, we usually order from them in batches and they order it online, so we can save shipping costs. . . . you can ask J.Drift or Jebjeb for more info. . .

or you can scan through the for sale section. .. . there are quite a bit of good second hand kits for sale. . . .there too. . . .

cheers

hey caloyski, welcome to dubdrift

toys n us in sheik zayed has tt01's and ta05's in stock and a few spare parts and thats about it, not much choice in electronics and batteries either, but their prices are low and you can always ask for a discount.

hobby zone in deira has some good brushless motors/esc and batteries and some spares and hop ups for tamiya but i only saw one drift kit in their store... HPI drift kit, and their prices too are low and they offer discount but don't tell them i told you laughing

and you can also try hobby center, unfortunately they dont have new stocks and the last time i was there... they are full... of bajas.

to make it short... there is'nt a single hobby shop here that sells yokomo kits and spares, online shopping is a must, rcmart is your best choice when it comes to prices and shipping cost, and jj dubdrift shop is your new best friend very happy

if you are going for a yokomo kit, get the mr4tc-sd type c chassis... the newest of all the mr4tc, cheaper compared to the DRB or Dmax but better than type a or b in terms of adjustability and new parts and design too although it does'nt come with a body shell and electronics

Yup i have the SD version of the yohomo mr4tc and my rear hub is busted right now.. need to save for replacements.. and yes its a great drifter but ofcours needs a lot of practice when it comes to drifting.

Everything works great like CS convertions and stuff but the only thing i dont like about it is the price.. really high compared to others on the same level very happy

Anyway if your interested on a more cheaper hop-up parts check the sales offered HERE

I'd go for the Hot Bodies TC that Chardiboi is selling.

Can't believe no one has picked this up yet............

i have not visited the hobby shops here in dubai for quite a while but the numbers are listed in the site, you can use the search function.

congrats on your kit, love that chassis, so what motor/esc are you using?

what body will you be using?

very good decision on going 2.4, keep us posted
