PostSubject: Moderator Duties & Responsibilities   Sat Dec 18, 2010 7:12 pm

In order to make clear what Moderators can, cannot, should, and should not do, and to make clear why Moderators sometimes take or do not take certain actions, DubDrift Forum makes public this list of rules and responsibilities which applies to all Moderators whether global or specific. As with all other rules here, they may be changed from time to time, so it's a good idea to check back periodically to stay familiar with things.

Moderator Duties

•Actions taken are logged to "Edits, Deletions, and Abuses of Power" in the admin control automatically.
•Threads out of place should be moved to their proper locations without a shadow link to its new location.
•Posts should only be edited for the following reasons:

-Excessive vulgarity and profanity
-Languages other than english (Except for Chatbox thread)
-Direct, extreme attack on or flaming of another forum member (Moderators should use discretion)
-Pornography including details or images, and links that do not pertain to the thread.

In all cases, the original post (or at least the edited section, if it's a long post) should be saved in the quote section of the replied post, from further editing by the user.

•Posts should only be deleted (or threads removed) for the following reasons:

-Flames against a person/race/skill/etc which includes excessive vulgarity or profanity (Moderators should use discretion between editing and deletion)
-Duplicates (may be also locked at Moderator's discretion)
-Request of the original author
-Spam

Moderator Responsibilities

•Mods will not threaten any forum member with vulgar comments and/or use of mod powers either on the forum, chatbox or elsewhere.
•Mods cannot play favorites towards another forum member.
•If a major problem occurs with another forum member(s), post a message requesting for them to tone it down. If they continue, PM them another message. If they continue after that, refer them to Administors or Moderators.

Moderator words and actions are visible to the entire community, and they are role models. Remember this when conducting yourselves.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forum Ranks are as follows:

Administrators
-Jay
-Reckracing

Global Moderator
-Lance

Mayhem Moderator
-cathurga

Moderator
-jebjeb

Support Moderator
-bong

If you have any questions regarding the above list or you think does not deserve to be on the ranks please contact one of the Moderators or Administrators. Suggestions and nominations with a valid reason are open.

i believe the above mentioned mods are capable and responsible to uphold their responsibilities ....

but as an added suggestion to other DUBDRIFT members such as myself ....

may i strongly urge fellow dubdrifters to keep the informational threads alive and progressive ...

I remember how informative DUBDRIFT was when i was starting out .... everyone i know here has gained so much knowledge when i first met them ....

it would be great if we all work togther as one unit to attract and inspire newbies to grow in depth with the RC Hobby ...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!
