PostTamiya TA06!!!

Thanks to Tamiya from Drifter Central for the update.

I see two belts just for the front end, and the rear seems to have a gearbox. Maybe like the FF03.

Someone pleaasee tell me you can set the shocks back to normal upright position. I don't like that at all. I also don't like how the servo is sticking right out. sad

I doubt it'll live up to the TA05s drifting reputation considering the rear motor. But the battery pack position might help. But either way, at least we can expect some good conversion kits to solve this... And ofcourse. TA06 VDF!!!!

But I'm sure folks at Tamiya know what they're doing, this one has to be good too. It's got to replace the best club chassis ever made.

Now I can see my TA05 go like.. "You'll miss me when I'm gone". =(

Either way, line up behind me. dance

Hmmmm another overcomplicated chassis.....tamiya should really take a lesson from 3racing and do a budget version of the trf417 instead ( like the Sakura zero S!)

also looks like it has a bottom loading battery tray like the df03......which never fits the packs you actually own.....

Was really hoping they would do something better with this.....maybe the tb04 will be better....that is if they do a tb04

I thought I was looking at a blue HPI Cup Racer.. laughing

This looks bad for drifting although may be good at touring, it's fugly.. And as most of you already said, it's very complicated.

Just read something on RCTech.

"To be announced at Shizuoka:

TA06 Aluminum Racing Steering Set
TA06 Stabilizer Set
TA06 Aluminum Steering Link
TA06 Titanium Screw Set
TA06 Rear Ball Diff Set (52T)
TA06 Front Ball Diff Set (39T)
TA06 Front Direct Coupling (39T)
TA06 Front One-Way Set (39T)
TA06 Center One-Way Pulley Set (18T)"

39T in the front? Large pulley = more efficient. 52T in the rear indicates that this car is not after all, 3 belt driven. Center pulleys are even larger.

I'm happy too see no graphite arms, alloy suspension mounts, bulkheads and rocker arms.

UPDATES:

Front can be changed with non-IFS layout.

Screws on the underside look like hex screws. Dampers look TA06 specials. It shares the same spur holder as the TA05, 173mm and 453mm drive belts, and obviously universal drive shafts.

Looking mucho' better now! It looks goooood actually!

AND, I CALL DIBS ON THE SUMO POWER GT-R!!! It's the most beautiful thing ever.
"58492 Tamiya RC TA06 Pro Chassis Kit June Release ¥23,840
58488 Tamiya RC Sumo Power Gt Nissan Gt-R (TA06) July Release ¥21,440" hurray 2thumbsup

I still really don't like that battery bay.....let's hope someone comes up with an upgrade chassis without it! And then Fixes that suspension setup, sorts out the rear drive setup....

I'll stick to my ta05 for now...

What's wrong with the suspension setup? It'll include a bags part like the other IFS cars to use upright suspension.

Also, I doubt that the rear drive will be a problem. Come on, Tamiya, it always looks messed up, but they do end up making good stuff.

Agree with you on the battery compartment though. sad

I feel like I'm reviving a dead thread here, but just to let you guys know,

Gear differentials will be standard on this. That's horrible news for CS fans. sad

i dont think CS mods will be a problem on this scratch

as i see the pulley lay out its like you moding OTA kit toetap5

hmmnnn..

I am using a gear differential in the front at 40T. I find it better with the CS set-up.
Still have to get my drifter to accept tamiya's 16T COW pulley though. Just feel like it would handle better in tighter corners.

And yeah, I agree with J.Drift..
From the looks of it, you still can mod it for OD. Maybe limited to a certain ratio but still is possible and easy.

Maybe Mr. T will be producing specific parts for it in the near future after it's release.
But for now all we can say is "maybe".

very happy
