Subject: LIPO Death - Don't do what I did ! Sun May 01, 2011 6:17 pm
I have just killed a Lipo, no fire or anything dramatic, in fact it was a long slow death.
I left the Lipo plugged to my ESC after turning it off and leaving Meydan last week. When I checked it this week I have zero volts :-(
Easily avoided once you know.

no, fire only comes AFTER you try to fastcharge it again
but if its really 0.0000V then your charger won't recognise it either
sometimes ppl try reviving them with a 50mA trickle charge until they reach 3.3V then can normal charge... but yeah i wouldn't try doing it anywhere indoors!!

The chemical composition of the battery has been altered, you will get a negative reaction if you put power through it. Not worth the consequences.
I have aften left LiiPo's plugged in with ESC off, and they are all ok, you may have left it on unknowingly?

i made the mistake of shorting out two batteries in parallel, even worse, dad had the fear of watching, got a good smack upside the head for that, they were my King of shaves boat batteries, i now need to find a 5.5 mm plug
