PostSubject: Scalpel Build Photo's   Fri Sep 16, 2011 6:13 pm

Here are my build photo from the Robitronic Scalpel.

The kit came with everything required except for transmitter and reciever. So it came with servo, battery, ESC and motor, wheel and tires and body shell (allready painted).

It's a nice kit with lots of Carbon parts and red anodised alloy.

The only thing that was not included was a servo saver, so the cheap servo it came with was broken on the first outing, after a bump into a wall surprised

If anyone buys one, they should try and find a small servo saver to use with it. I bought a micro rs4 servo saver and it works OK, but some others are using a Kimbrough one, with a couple of spacers to lift the servo a little higher.

I've also installed a Tekin B1R ESC, and replaced the stock servo with a Hitec HS-85BB. The stock motor is quick enough for the track we are racing on, but there are brushless motors available to turn it into a micro rocket if you want.

They are not very expensive considering the one I bought come with ESC and battery etc. Someone found a batch of them in the local market and I think I paid 600 or 700 dhs or so.

You can get them direct from Robitronic for about 110 Euro plus shipping.

There are some good deal on ebay if you have a US delivery address.

I'm not sure who else stocks them, they don't seem to have caught on much, but they are great fun and a well built kit. There are 6+ of us with them now, meeting on Monday nights for some indoor carpet racing. Track is suitable for 1/12th scale pan cars as well........ I have recently bought one of these too.

I will send you a PM with the location.

It's not big, and the owner didn't want to advertise it widely, but if you are intereted in 1/18 or 1/12 scale racing, then come down for a look.

Anyone else who is interested, then send me a PM for location.
