looks promising lance i think it would be easier to use the graphite or carbon flat chassis to do this conversion ... the tub just seems it has so much plastic in the way which can all be cleared off by a dremel

Thanks Jarwin! Where are you?! @andy, That is some sick mother lovin' machine! Well worthy of its price but just a little out of my budget.. Thanks for sharing though.. The main reason I'm opting to use M-chassis gear set is to mount the motor in the centerline and as low as possible without having to use a smaller spur/pinion combo.

Doing some maths. It looks like I'll need to gear up the TB-03's rear differential. Since the M-chassis gears are pretty much set, I need to adjust on the rear IDR. I'm looking for an ideal FDR of 7.0 and I'll try as much as possible to put it near that. Looking at brushed motor/ESC combo.. Nothing fancy. Atleast not yet. Diff Gear = 39T Counter Gear = 27/16 Spur Gear = 37/21 TB-o3D IDR = 2.438 With these numbers, I'm gonna be needing a 40T, 0.6P pinion. Where do you get this much of a pinion?! But if I gear up the rear diff to 1.5, it'll only require a 24~25T pinion.. Still on the design stage. Will keep you updated with the progress (hopefully)..

if it's RWD only i think you dont need to use that TB-O3 OD parts the stock gear will do to minimized the thermal problem

@jon, thanks for the input.. I'm starting to consider other options like FF-03/Sakura FF gear set instead of the Mini's. The reason why I might opt for this OD gears is that the M-chassis gear set are already geared down. Having a 20T pinion in a Mini gives you an FDR of 5.8. Considering the Mini's IDR, multiplied by the TB-03's IDR and you get a really high FDR = 10.521 with a 27T pinion. As I mentioned above, If I wanted a 7.0 FDR, I will need a 40T, 0.6p pinion. This is starting to get a little harder than the Sakura Conversion..

Another great project Sir! Idol! I hope you get a donor.. I think the motor is sitting a bit too high and may touch the bonnet of the body. Can it not be set lower?

| Hi Lance
Yes it can be lowered by removing a lot of materials from the donnor chassis and mounting the motor below. But this will make the prop line not level. Or I am thinking of making a flat chassis out of 3 mm black acrylic , With matching motor mount. Inshallah during my next vacation. I may need a lot of motivation and input from you.
