a budd of mine is planning to get one of this cupracers from hpi..
i was suggesting the tamiya m-chassis but the datsun shell doesnt fit the tamiya ones.

its a 4wd car kit, im thinking we can just disconnect the rear joints to make it a Fwd..
what do you think guys.. can it be done? will it still pass andys m-chassis category?

LINK HERE

thanks clown

negative jay and even if they have the same width, its still made for 4wd and removing the rear axles will just make the HPI unbalance.

other thing, if you open that category, some guys here might convert there TT01's to fit the mini category and you'll add headache to the mayhem! hehehehe

make sense to me smile scratch

m-chassis's got shorter wheelbase bro so the tt01s wont be on the same category as the m-chassis. unless you get the conversion from 3racing lol minis got smaller wheels too clown

plus hpi made the cupracer to match the tamiyas m-class bro.. i think :|

Hey Guys,

I really like the Cup Racer, the bodykit is especially good, and I think you are all right, it does not fit on the Tamiya Chassis....there are some differences.

4WD mini racing is not that popular, from everything I have read, the problem is that they handle the same as their big touring car brothers, and therefore they do not add a difference to the racing that the FWD's offer. All the problems that occur with MO3's like the slop and twitchiness, just adds to their fun.

To try and meet this, HPI brough out the Switch which looks nice, but it is not so good on performance, you can read more HERE

Personally I have NO problem if someone brings one down to mini-mayhem with the rear drive detached, unless they have a massive advantage of any sort. If it is not close racing, it is not fun.
The other problem with the Cup Racer is that gorgeous body....it will get THUMPED to pieces in our meetings....LOL....it would break my heart to watch chromed mirrors, bumpers and wipers being flung to all corners of the track :-)

Hey guys, I've seen the review of the HPI Switch before and these guys who tested it says that the M03 is way better, As with the cup racer I guess wel just have to see one up close coz the way I see it, It would still be heavier compared to the M0's by just removing the drive shaft to make it 2WD, which I think is a disadvantage, also not sure about the gearing if it matches the M0's, definitely not, guess wel just have to make another class for it.
