If budget is not a prob then I would go straight in buying a highend kit.. I f not I guess a stock starter kit is the way to go.
Difference between the 2 is if you get a highend kit you will be spending a lot at first and there is no need to upgrade anything. Gettng a starter kit on the other hand which needs upgrading you will be able to familiarize all the parts and upgrade only on parts you need.
For new rtr kits I would say no.. Its just like getting a cheap rc car from careyfore.. unless you disassemble the whole thing and put everything back again.
But then if you're really lazy assembling your own kit.. think again maybe this hobby is'nt for you. This is not just about you driving your kit.. its also about setting it up that suits your driving the most.
Anyway final decisions always yours.. Good luck and hope to see you at the track
