i gave 2 copies of the 2009 drifting cometition rules to two event organizers here in dubai.. maybe one of them is organizing this one.

i bet it will be just us battling on the drifting category lol

i've arranged for a meeting with a shop known as RC PRO located behind lamcy plaza, the owner will arrive from vacation on wed/thurs and the shop is closed on friday so i will see him saturday hopefully we will be sponsored if all goes well.

Its funny the event is hosted through facebook only, and the invitation is also through there so i'e been forwarding it to as many people as possible through mails. But i haven't seen any local ads, or LHS mentioning abt it. In fact the shops dont have a clue abt this either.

I like what they are doing, but I am a little sceptical, I thought that if they were going to do something like this they would at least get some pointers from the local community and see whats what first...

As far as I can tell, it is a marketing thing with the intention of making money...there doesn't seem to be a greater plan behind all of this. I contacted them a while back to lend a hand and help out...never got a response..

Anyway, I will go down to have a looksee, but I also feel that the beginning of Ramadan, doing an outdoor event it about the time that many people are breaking their fast is not so smart....


I am hoping to be proved wrong and it is a massive success...the hobby needs it.
