I had mentioned to some members a while back about getting a raffle going. Ultimately what I would like to do is raise some funds for a transponder kit. Actually I would like to buy the thing outright but the sensible part of me agrees that US$599 is a lot of money to spend on something that is never going to hold value.

Here's the idea, and I need some input as to what you guys think.

I have a TB-02 kit that is still shrinkwrapped, it is a Mercedes Benz bodied kit and those of you who know your tamiya's will know that although the shaft driven TB-02 is an older kit, it was a great design in it's day. I still use one and it is tune-able and spares are still available online.
What I intend to do is sell tickets for the car, the proceeds will go to the funding of the timing gear. 30 tickets at AED40 per entry, will give all the buyers a 1-in-30 chance of winning a kit....for AED 40....
The rest of the money I will stump up for the timing gear, and of course I will donate the winning kit.

Let me know what you think, and if required I can give you a link to the car. I know that drifters will not benefit from the timing gear, but as this club grows, I am sure more and more people will be interested in some touring car action as well.

I am not keen to get into trouble for staging raffles and breaking some law regarding donations etc etc, so the competition will remain part of the dubdrift environment. The winner will be selected with a random number generator to ensure fairness.

If anyone has anything that they would like to donate so that we can have a second prize, that would make it all the more worthwhile for entrants.
