| Advance drifters, guys, brothers. As you are all aware, I'm just new to drifting. At present, I'm just using the original tamiya 540 brushed type sport tuned motor. I want to maximize the performance of this motor. What do you think (as per you own experience) is the best pairing for pinon and spur gear? I'll shift to brushless once i'm already satisfied with my sliding. |

| Wide Open & Sideways! Hello sir, i think you're still using the stock pinion and spur which is 19/61, most of drifters in Philippines uses 22/58 Pinion/Spur which is ideal for drifting as per the drifters are saying, i've experienced it also, excellent in torque and gives you enough power for a long drift, i recommend also using a Lipo.
Let's hear other guys opinion. |

Thanks bro. I believe i cant replace my brush since i'm using the black motor and not the silver can or GT motor. Even if its possible, i cant do it since i dont have the proper tools for that. If i have the gt motor (silver can), i can try you suggestion. Anyway, thanks again bro! |

| first of all i would like to know which chassis are you drifting with.. TT01? if yes, better checkout this LINK if not, i have a gear ratio calculator app which i downloaded from rc universe i think and give you a copy. you need to know your default FDR for this to work and you can get it on your kits manual. |

| Yup! i'm just waiting for the Pinion.
The Internal Drive Ration (IDR) of TT01 is 2.6
Spur 61T / Pinion 19T = 3.21 X IDR 2.6 = 8.34 Final Drive Ratio (Stock)
Spur 58T / Pinion 22T = 2.63 X IDR 2.6 = 6.85 Final Drive Ratio (Drift)
Spur 55T / Pinion 25T = 2.2 X IDR 2.6 = 5.72 Final Drive Ratio (Stock Touring)
Hope it can help.... |
