| Hop-ups would be impotant, for varieties of Tamiya chassis, and some touring car bodyshells and drift as well (JDM body shell is a must!!!) |

| I had been to the shop yesterday and Mohd. said he wanted some help to place his next order. Guys i know what u pple r lookin for but we need to be specific, models nos. are good and so are names of shells too specific, like R34, R35 skyline shells, Evo X , etc etc. Parts which one mostly TRF shocks, Arms, etc etc we need to be a lil more specific which will help. So i cud list it down and send it to him. Like if i say i need TT01 parts since i have a TT01 i'd say bearing set, steering hop up, trf shock hop up, drive shaft hop up, etc etc u know like that. Since i know what TT01 needs most importantly i can advise, like that i'd like all of u to share what items u need in specific relating to ur kits. Mini pple put down ur parts as well and since M05 and M03 share most of the parts they are common then |

| I suppose that rims are always in demand, and none of the hobby shops seem to get enough of those. Tires get worn out quicker than any other part, so those are useful too...
All the TT-01's come with friction shocks (apart from the D spec) and that is always an upgrade point.
T&U need to know the differences between the OP labelled parts and the SP parts. OP are the Hop-Ups that replace a kit part as an UPGRADE, the SP parts are just issue of a kit part.
Belts for TA cars are a consumable, upgradeable spur pinion sets are good as most kits come with a 'middle of the road' gearing. Aluminium parts are only bling factor, and are mostly EXPENSIVE items and I can see why the LHS dont want to stock them, they are not good as dead stock, but nice to have.
OP and SP parts of the above probably covers drifters, tourers and buggies as a start.
Apart from that, body kits are nice to have but if Tamiya allow them to, 5 of each with 5 variations/types should be enough to get things going.
Something for the LHS' to consider is to do some research into the local marketplace, see what is NOT available, and get them. Avoid buying what is already available and then there is less chance of the stock going dead. We live in the internet age, where information is EASILY available, there is no excuse for not researching info at hand.... :-)
No doubt JJ driftshop will be cheaper, there is no rent to pay :-) but it will fill a gap where the local hobby shops cannot supply....I like going into the LHS, I like picking up the parts/kits/packets, and I VERY rarely go into one, and come out with nothing....even if it is a bag of washers :-)... ...it's because I have a disease.. |

| i need shells and am looking for TA-05MS kit, might be difficult but if u can find it i will buy it right there on the spot, am also looking for GTR-34 - Z tune shell, MORE SUPRAS, Evo X, Evo IV, Evo IX, Subbie 07, subbie 08, any of these would be good. Some radio systems that are affordable would also be good rather then forking out 1000+ for spektrums and Jr's .... AND DEFINETLY MORE HOP UPS i would be interested in those TRF oil filled shocks

| Vinesh,
When it comes to rims/wheels, the 26mm are going to be the best bet, then they can get std slicks for tourers, Driftech for drifters and in decent quantities of each.
Standard CVA Damper sets would suit all the TT-01's to replace the friction number, and then some TRF for the upgraded version that will fit on the TA-05's, TB-03's & TT-01
Pinions from 18T to 25T, the double sets are the most useful.
Bearings from Tamiya are a wasted of money, T&U would be better off ordering from RCBearings.com or walawala.....sizes & qty. 1150 - 100 850 - 50 1050 - 50
They could sell them at a tidy profit after buying bulk prices, and they would still be VERY affordable for users. Those sizes will fit Mini's, Tourers and drifters. There is one more size that is fairly common, I think it is a 1260 or a 1560 which fits in the TT-01 diff outdrives.
Get smart, package the various sizes into kit specific parcesl and you are good to go. I dount VERY much whether they will ever have too many 1150's 1050's and 850's.
I believe the TA-05 and TB-03's have the same/similar A-arms, C-blocks, and I think the Universal shaft sets are the same too. These are all good hop up part options, and more importantly, they BREAK. So could be considered a consumable.
Mini's as you say, M-03 and M-05 are interchangeable for many parts. Suspension, gearbox, drive cups (uni's), C-blocks, uprights, body-sets.
Other universal parts like servo stays, turnbuckles, Aluminium ball joints (5mm), screw sets, body pins, wheel nuts (colour) are all useful.
Hope this helps. |
