Want your shells to look cool? Want to have a miniature Keitchi Tsuchiyia behind the wheel? Want him to be holding a steering wheel and swapping gears? Look no further folks!
Tamiya made this first, but the AWESOME folks at r2hobbies aren't far behind!
I don't know about you guys, but I like it!
Check it out right here, and LOOK at that PRICE!

===========================================
In other news, look at their bodyshells! I'm not sure if they are strong, but at $7 a piece (INCLUDING 2 SPOILERS AND LIGHT BUCKETS) what more can you ask for? AND the shipping is DIRT cheap!

Look at this shell,

The ONLY bad thing about them...Is that there are no masks includes. The windows aren't the hard bits, it's the light's that are hard to mask...Anyone know how you can mask those circle lights at the back of GTR?

Nothing new...

A small advice about the shell.
You get what you pay for.
It may be cheap, but quality goes a long way.
Why not go for tamiya's r35 and yokomo's wing sets.

I already have tamiya's r35 blum3
I have a friend who won the 2008 D1RC club class finals, he's got 3 shells from r2hobbies, 1 for bashing and 2 for competitions. He says both are as good as a branded one.
When it comes to know off's EVERYONE seems to have a very different opinion.

Obviously...then we'd be more like robots that humans. =)

Personally, I haven't tried anything from r2hobbies.
So my trust goes to branded/registered items.

True. You have to agree though, getting a set of Faceworx + one of r2hobbies good shells + your favorite set of rims = A BEAUTIFUL shelf queen/competition shell. Nothing bad about making your mates go "woaaaahhh, you paint that your self dude?" wink

It's just that when you buy non-registered shells.
They usual look a bit unusual from the 1:1 model.

Thread date!

Anyway..The shells looking bloated is completely psychological. Look at this shell by the way...

Looks awesome doesn't it?!

....It's the R2Hobbies shell. The one that you think looks bloated wink
They are knock offs of the best Tamiya, HPI and Yokomo shells.

I'd rather have a Yokomo shell (included in it are detailed D1GP decals, aero wing and wing mounts, dummy rear exhaust pipe and lexan plate number)....I'm currently using one now....with these knock-offs you only got the shell and thats it....

consider buying a knock-off....after that you have to buy decals + wing + wing mounts + dummy muffler + interFooler + window wipers....plus shipping and handling if some of the items are not available at the LHS.....why go through all the hassle right???? imho it would be much better if you could get a shell that would provide almost all of the above mentioned items...

You don't HAVE to get any of them...The shell is basically all you need.

It's job is only to protect the chassis, after that, anything you do is what you like, not what you NEED.

Anyway, everyone's got a different opinion. You've got one, and so do I. I'm just sharing mine, and you're sharing yours.

I don't like decals anyway actually. Just some of Tamiya's bottled paint (don't know what it's called) brushed around the window edges. Graphics are a different thing though wink

I wouldn't get one of their shells for track use, just for usage in the yard.
