| Well after a few misses on e-bay, I settled for this kit. It's probably not the most common of kit, but came with a pile of NIP spare parts and a lot of generic parts from other cars will also fit apparently. It is a Serpent S400. As you can see it resembles your general XRay, Cyclone, 415 etc two belt setup so there is nothing too unusual but thought you would like to have a little look. It's been used indoors on carpet and needed a good clean (which I have done now) since it had a lot of carpet fluff all through it. Rebuilt the CV and diffs etc. Still a bit of work for me. I need to replace a few bearings that I found during my clean up that are not too good, new spur gear (I don't have any 64p pinions anyway), a body to paint (thank's Vinesh!) and electronics to install. Then we'll be ready to roll....

| Reminds me of the Xray chassis.
@Jay Most (if not all) high-end BD CF chassis have the same design, exposed gears. Nothing really bad unless you plan to use it offroad. hehe.

| Pebble-magnet? =P
Maybe it's because of the enclosed gears that you're having the problem. The pebbles that get cause in don't have any where else to fly off. So they starting jumping around inside, and end up in between the gear.
Possible theory? |

| Well it may look new now but it certainly had a lot of carpet grunge through it. I think the previous owner was a little over enthusiastic with grease on anything that moved..... Chassis wise it seems pretty spotless though. All up delivered it was under 1000 Dhs, but I think most importantly it came with this As for the exposed gears and drive train, I actually ran a off road buggy with similar open design so it doesn't scare me off too much, but dirt and stones are different I guess. Maybe a broom will be a good addition to my car boot! |

I think it will still be a couple of weeks for me. I've just ordered some spur and pinion gears, 2.4ghz receiver and few other bits and bobs. Most other electronics are sorted or on route, don't know where I'm going to get a silver can from though? |
