| Yep, that sounds good. I still have one here, and a GT but I might have to take advantage of that....so, is he coming down to Area 2 on Saturday? I reckon with some items in the back of a van, he could do well there in the afternoons... |

| Not sure if I'm clear on this or not.
GT class with sport tuned - fine sounds good to me, bring it on. Mini-mayhem is staying with silver can or moving to sport tuned? Personally I think we should keep with silver can for now. Some of the Mini kit come with silver can so easy for newbie. Plus there a quite a lot of us now setup for silver can.....does not seem any point for change, and with GT moving to ST, then there will be more silver can in the pool for use with mini. I mentioned on another thread that silver can seem hard to find at the moment, but hopefully only short term problem. |

| I agree with greg, i guess the reason GT upgraded to ST is due to the fact that it needs more power and u can play with the gearing to get more juice outa ur car. Minis stick to silver cans, already happy with the speed and performance any faster then the damages may increase and the thing can be a bit difficult to control since its a FWD. |

| I think it would be good to continue the discussion we were having on Ian's thread which we hijacked.
I work pretty close to the Meydan, so this week I have taken my tourers with me to work, I just drop by the track on the way home at 6pm, gives me about 45 mins to race around. I had the TB03 set up as follows:
13T HW BL 3000Kv final drive 6.5:1 Diff rear Spool front Sorex 32R with soft C inserts
The car was under-geared in a big way. It was too quick off the mark, with no top speed. The grip on the track is high and with so much grip the torque-steer was rediculous. As soon as it got on step though, it was fun to drive, and the cornering was superb.. A few laps into it and I started developing decent lines. With it being undergeared, it never broke a temp higher than 60 Deg C....a few days earlier I got VERY high temps, and when I did a routine inspection of the gearboxes, the rear bearings fell apart in my hands...literally. And they were almost rusted solid...!! I think at some point we will need to use a longer section of track, but it is good for now. Last night I made some changes to the car, most notably changed the gearing to 6.24:1 which is still undergeared, but I dont have a 26T pinion to bring it up to exactly 6. I have a 27T which will make it 5.75:1 but I think that will be overgeared and overkill on the motor.
I also got 'Ye Olde TB EVO4' out of mothballs for a little ride. I got as far as turn 3, and it stopped dead. All 4 wheels locked up solid. Got it home and expected a simple fix and ended up rebuilding both diffs. For anyone who knows these cars, it is not a simple task. The gearbox pinions have small hex screw holding them onto the drive shaft, and both of them had come off and got SCRUNCHED up in the gearbox. The front was ok as I managed to salvage both crown and pinion gears. The front has a one-way running so there were no damaged diff-halves. The rear was a different story, crown and pinion were both badly damaged, and I am grateful that when I found all the TBEVO4 spares at Hobby Center a year ago, I bought all of them. In that spares cache I had another crown/pinion set. The one side of the dif half was cracked, and the bearing guide was sheared off. I cleaned both surfaces and super-glued them together and they seem to be holding out. It seems that diff halves are no longer made for this model, but rcmart has some Yeah Racing ones that are a direct fit. Will have to acquire some. I love working on the EVO's, they are so solid and light, the technology is quite impressive.
I will post more 'RAMBLINGS' after my next session... :-)

| So, will a 23T motor be allowed to race with the 13T HW BLs, FDR? Asked Ian to get me a 3Racing Sakura Zero Chassis from RC-Mushroom and am planning to run it in the GT Mayhem. I've read a lot of good reviews on it and decided to try it. If Tamiya blue is ghey, then what is Sakura pink? |

| Same question here. Still using old fashion 23T brushed motor. |

| Lance, I think 23T would be competitive with the 13T's.....dont see why not...the more the merrier.. As far as FDR is concerned, I really am not sure what the best config would be....there is a nice long straight, a smaller straight and some good old 180 degree turns so it is a real mixup. I think around 6 would give the best of both worlds...suit yourself |
