Next Race Day in Al Ain? :: Comments

Re: Next Race Day in Al Ain?

I will only be able to tell on about the 25th of this month, but safe to say that any weekend counts..

This weekend is a possibility, but will only know on Weds...if there is a posse going up, I will join if I am free...

As soon as a date is set for Feb, and if I am available I will set up the laptop with the race details so that we can organise the day better and have some timed laps. If we do that, the non-racers will be forced to do some marshalling.....definately important on that track.

Looking forward to it!

Will be cool with the timing system, now we just need to agree on the GT spec....

Andy I think you may need to add an outlaw class in the race schedule! hehehe

I think we should have the following classes....

GT Outlaw - with 8 people, 4 rounds of 4 drivers
Mini-Mayhem - with 8 people, 4 rounds of 4 drivers

If we race properly, the software can then arrange finals, A & B mains for each class based on the summary of the best times.

After the race agenda we have a time GRUDGE match between GT & Mini. We have 2 rounds of the BEST drivers from each class above....as well as the WORST drivers from each class above. This allows GT drivers to enter both classes....and again, the best times recorded will determine the winners...

GT Outlaw means the only limit is 23T brushed or the BL equivalent.., and it is my belief that the fastest drivers will not necesarily be the winners.....

Shouldnt "Outlaw" be no limits, if you are brave enough and want to put 3.5T motor then you can but then it is also your problem to try and keep it on the track.....

Shouldnt we run 2 GT classes:

GT Outlaw - "anything goes" - just for fun
GT Mayhem - Sport tuned or GT tuned motors - serious racing

GT Outlaw class would be more for fun & experimentation.... then the GT mayhem would be proper racing

interesting! outlaw is more fun for sure but no regulations would make it uncompetitive.

You're right some drivers might have an advantage, but seeing that this class is really just for the trips out to Al Ain, i dont know if its worth setting motor limits...guys are probably gonna want to use what they have already and not go out and buy new motors etc....and just have some fast paced fun on the track...

I'm not sure what motors everyone would plan on using, but if you do find for example that no one will be using a motor less than 9T we can set that as the limit....just a thought...

if we want some serious racing i suggest we stick to the GT mayhem class with GT Tuned or sport tuned motors, that will keep the racing competitive and keep costs down....just a thought...

bandit seeing you have been doing so well on the racing circuit...and you need to give us a chance in beating you....

you will be imposed the "bandit" penalty which means you can only run a stock silver can in outlaw class and mayhem class....hehehe laughing
