| if you have, check you manual strawb..
if not, you can get it HERE
but you were right.. it's:
spur (64)/pinion (22) x internal gear ratio (2.438) = 7.09 FDR ~ 7 = advised FDR for drifting kits.. |

| the cover become hot not the motor? that is bit weird cover should not be in that temp unless you pinion & spur contact is bit tight that cause friction  |

| The cover for the spur pinion might get warm because it is attached to the motor mount which is aluminium. Normally Tamiya include a paper 'spacer' between the motor mount and the motor. In most instances this is to avoid the heat of the motor coming in contact with the plastics and melting it...make sure you have a heatsink on the motor to draw heat away from the motor. For getting the best gear mesh, the paper trick will work, but I prefer to set it by 'feel'. There should be a small amount of 'backlash' between the gears, but as you start getting finer pitch like 64dp it becomes more difficult to get right, and the same applied when using the paper trick on finer pitches....it becomes a bit of an art to get right, but eventually you get the skillz required |
