hi ..... has anyone done a range check on their 2.4ghz Spektrum DSM? ..... if so? ......... how far can your tx/rx reach before the fail safe kicks in?

range is really dependent on the environment you are in and if you have interference (radio masts, cell towers) around....... also low batteries may effect range.....

best way to test range is get someone to hold your car.....then turn the wheel (no throttle) and hold it there.....now walk away until your friend lets you know the wheels have returned to straight....that will be a sign that the fail safe has kicked in and that will be your max range

i found out my range the hard way............with a jammed throtlle - wide open, ask paul and vin, thet were there that day......paul has posted a perfect example of range test.....Follow it or lose your kit

my spektrum DSM module can only reach about a good 100-120ft and around 150ft with new batts ..... is this the same with all Spektrum Tx/Rx?

that does sound a little low, i get 50m (150ft) quite easily normally (using a DX3S)

you may be getting some interference from something like a cell mast or something....also check that the aerial on the rx is straight (vertical) and not damaged (bent or kinked) this will greatly reduce your range

not sure how much range you are looking for but a 1/10 scale car becomes pretty difficault to see passed 75-100m anyway
