 | Subject: TA05 IFS questions... Sun May 23, 2010 7:09 pm | |
| I was planning on purchasing a TA05 IFS V1 graphite conversion kit, and a pair of alloy bulkheads for the front and rear. Trouble is, I'm not sure if I'll be able to go back to the upright suspension style. Like on the stock IFS V1, you get the parts you need to use upright suspension, or IFS suspension, can I still do this after I purchase the graphite conversion and the alloy bulkheads?
Thanks. _________________ If NISMO stands for Nissan Motorsports, does HOMO stand for Honda Motorsports? | It's actually possible even on the V2 conversion kit. You'll only need to get a "TA-05" Aluminum Bulkhead and not the IFS one. Because the IFS ones don't have the part where you place the shock tower. And a graphite Front Shock Tower.. You need one too. |

| So just to confirm it...
I need to get the IFS V1 graphite chassis, a graphite front shock tower, and normal alloy bulkheads?
And does anyone have a link to the alloy bulkheads? RCMart is out of stock... =/ _________________ If NISMO stands for Nissan Motorsports, does HOMO stand for Honda Motorsports? | Yes. That is it.
You might want to add the rear graphite shock tower to finish off your conversion. |

| Mhm Got all that in check. Cheers Sir Lance, you were really helpful, now to go and check if I can afford everything. | I don't think the IFS V1 conversion kit is still available. If it is, I don't recommend it. Isn't the newest version of the 3racing IFS V2 or V3? Personally, I'd go for the newer version because it would have a better layout.
As for the bulkheads, Sir Lance is right. Get the bulkhead meant for the TA05. One bad thing about this is that it'll look a bit ugly when you have an IFS setup. ****Don't forget about the CF shock towers. Both front and rear****
If I were given the choice (before), I'd go for the complete IFS setup. Why? Because you can have more adjustments on the pressure given to the Dampers. Bad side is that the IFS setup is a bit more expensive.
But now, if I were given the change to pick any kit, I'd go for the TCD. Booooooo to Tamiya! =P _________________ KIT: Tamiya TA05-3R ELECTRONICS: Novak GTB V.2, Novak Ballistic 3.5T, Futaba 3PM 2.4Ghz FASST Tx, Futaba R603FF FASST Rx, Yeah Racing SVP-0010MG SHELL: Tamiya Evo VI, Tamiya Evo X, HPI 350Z

| I meant the 3Racing (any conversion that's available will do, V1, V2, etc.) conversion for the TA05 IFS V1. There are two versions of the TA05 IFS available, the TA05 IFS V1 (the older one, the one I have) and the TA05 IFS V2 (the one that Papi Ian has, for example).
I'll get the bulkheads for the TA05 then, trouble is... OUT OF STOCK! =/ Can't find them anywhere else either...
I'd go for the IFS setup, but I'm running a CS setup, and the steering turn buckles hit the IFS turnbuckles, which is reaally bad... So yeah... I think I'm going to have to ditch the IFS layout.
I want a TCD, all it needs is some weighing down... It's far too light, atleast compared to my heavy ol' TA. And I need to save up for one.
Okay, Josh, so what do you say, Square TA05, 3Racing TA05 or Pro-D? I can get a Pro-D, or any of the TAs... Not a TC-D... Too expensive for now. _________________ If NISMO stands for Nissan Motorsports, does HOMO stand for Honda Motorsports? | Square TA05. - if you have the budget Otherwise, let me welcome you to the 3Racing Ta05 club.
=P
The Pro-d is a great kit. But OD parts are hard to find. Isn't the Pro-D and TC-D about the same price? _________________ KIT: Tamiya TA05-3R ELECTRONICS: Novak GTB V.2, Novak Ballistic 3.5T, Futaba 3PM 2.4Ghz FASST Tx, Futaba R603FF FASST Rx, Yeah Racing SVP-0010MG SHELL: Tamiya Evo VI, Tamiya Evo X, HPI 350Z

| Hehe. I can pro'lly get me'self a Square on my bithday, it's on the 25th July.. Just two months away. With 3racing, I don't really need dad's (financial) help, I get enough money every month to buy some part or another with JJ. Plus, if you buy everything in one go, it's not half as exciting I'll PM you how I can get a cheap Pro-D, we both know what happens if I post it here =/ AAHHHHHHH.... Can't find TA05 bulkheads anywhere... O_O _________________ If NISMO stands for Nissan Motorsports, does HOMO stand for Honda Motorsports?
