| Hi!
This is a bit way off from rc cars but Im just wondering if some of you guys are into EP heli as well? I went to ultimate heli this morning to get some plugs but i was very amazed at the heli and thier prices were not that expensive. I want to try it out but I dont have any Idea on where to fly it or who I can play with it. Of course, I will still play with my EP car, this is just an alternative.

| Helicopters are cool.
Maybe if he we can arrange a pilot and a helicopter, we can attach a camera to the helicopter and film the tandems from above - action movie style!

| Get one of the intermediate things with dual main blades...learn to fly/hover, nose in/nose out with that first.....then slowly transition....the alternatives are expensive...
Or
try the simulators... |

| i am into EP flying EDF jets, I LOVE FIGHTER JETS, i want to apply as soon as i graduated but i realized what i was getting into.......15 years of military plus the risk of being killed......another thing that stopped me was the fac that i wear glasses and thats not good hen your pullung 9+ G's and your specs suddenly fall off......
at the moment i have 2 planes,
one seaplane that uses a nitro engine (too afraid to fly) one EDF jet still unbuilt and new in box (also too afraid to fly) |

| I am not discouraging you guys. I just want to share real experience with it. Learning to fly rc heli depends on every person. It is like learning to ride a bicycle some learn sooner than the other some never learn at all. Also you need a nerve of steel because flying is intense require 100 attention. And when you crash it is nerve wracking. Dont forget it also require fat wallet to pay for parts and repair. But once you learn its hard to turn your back from this hobby. It is twice as addictive than rc cars. I know it because i got 6 at the moment. Welcome to the money pit.   |

Aeroplanes are nice too. The foam ones are the best! Fly, crash, tape, fly...
Foam ones are cheap too. But they still can't replace helicopters. I had one when I was 11. Didn't know much about them, and tried to set it up myself, and that ruined it's setup, so it wouldn't fly very well....Only god knows where it is now.

| I have enjoyed flying in the past too....I had an El CHeapo T-34 Mentor low-wing trainer with a little 4-stroke engine....I used to putt around Nad Al Sheba, not tricks , no hovering...just take-off, fly-around, touch and goes and land....great fun...until some muppet arrived at the field, didnt check frequencies and switched on ...my Mentor went in and was destroyed...I approached the guys and confirmed they were on the same frequency, they just said "tough luck".....they were laughing while I was picking up the debris...I left. Got home, got into my other car and went back to the strip...waited until their plane was in the air, switched on and augered it into the ground. There was a lot of confusion....I went home and pulled the motor and electrics out...and they have been in it ever since...2.4Ghz has put a stop to that, but I dont really want to invest in new kit.
Thats why heli's are a no go for me right now.....its the wallet thing that puts me off... |

| hhmmm, it seems this heli thing is really expensive. I'm now looking at getting a TA05v.2 with some parts instead. |

LOL at the "Street Justice".
Biker Jet, yeah, helicopters are probably very expensive, even though I have barely any experience with them.
Mini mayhem/1/10 racing/drifting is much more forgiving than flying. If you let go off the tranny for 10 seconds during mini mayhem, nothing too expensive can happen (terms and conditions apply), but if you let go off the tranny for 10 seconds whilst flying...BOOM!
